asheville glass center

I got to take a glass workshop last weekend at the asheville glass center. It was so fun to work in a completely new medium. I’m hoping to be able to make more shapes like these after lots of practice.

The occult in modern art

I have been engrossed in this wonderful website Phantasaphile. It curates all sorts of contemporary-ish art that celebrates the occult. One of my favorite artists I found there was Hunter Stabler. Totally amazing graphite drawings and cut paper.

Here is a sampling of new pieces I’m making for Valentine’s day, as well as new pieces for 2012. A fellow River Arts Districter Alex Greenwood made these glass pieces for me. I hope to be able to learn how to do them myself someday. I’m experimenting with filling them with different herbs.
